Corrugated plastic (cellular polypropylene, akylux, cartonplast, duraflex, triplex) has a very advantageous price and it’s very flexible in producing the internal dunnage of the boxes.

It can be extruded in different thicknesses and densities, and has various colors. It can be laminated with technical foam (XPE, XLPE, EVA, EPE, PU) or with materials which usually have the function to prevent the pieces from getting scratched (Tyvek, Evolon, Royal Fabric, Softforce fabric, etc.). There are versions which have parallel cells or versions which have a wavy structure inside which offers rigidity against folding, in all directions (duraflex, triplex). The maximum standard thickness of a sheet is 11 mm, but upon request there can be produced multilayer sheets which can reach higher thicknesses.

Cellular polypropylene separators can be placed inside any packaging type: flatpac containers, corrugated plastic boxes, packaging from injected plastic (boxes, trays, containers, etc.), metal trolleys and roll cages.

The internal separators take over as well, other advantages of the material they are produced from:

  • They reduce the transport cots due to the low weight
  • They decrease the costs with packaging because they are returnable, they can be reused and have a long service life
  • They take over the shocks and vibrations, they are resistant, they do not break, do not bend or deform, they offer increased protection
  • They resist to humidity, dust, textile fluffs, chemical agents
  • They are easy to clean, this maintaining a pleasant aspect of the packaging, but also it protects the goods against eventual residues
  • They can be produced from corrugated plastic on ESD, antistatic or VCI treatment versions
  • It is fully recyclable at the end of its service life

    Laminated corrugated plastic internal separators

    For sensitive goods, it is preferred for the separators to be laminated in order to offer a superior level of anti scratch or anti-shock protection.

    This lamination can be done with various types of materials: foams (PU, XLPE, EPE, PE, XPE, etc.), non-woven material anti-scratch (Tyvek, Evolon, Royal Fabric, Softforce fabric, etc.). This can be done on one or on the both sides of the material, using permanent adhesives or by sewing.

    Laminated separators from cellular polypropylene are mainly used in automotive for the pieces where the aspect is very important.

    Corrugated plastic racks are in fact a kind of cabinets with compartments on the vertical or horizontal, depending on the pieces which are placed inside them.

    They can be used like they are, as static storage racks, or with containers, metal platforms or trolleys, flatpac type or injected containers, with injected or twin-sheet lids and pallets, they can be produced on any desired dimensions or design.

    They can be personalized with the codes of the products or projects, logo, during the transport or storage, the access part can be covered for extra protection.

    They are mainly used to store and transport long pieces from production in an ergonomic and efficient way. They are also used for the parts which are still hot after they are out from injection phase, and which need time to cool down until the next process.

    They are light weighted, due to the reduced weight of the corrugated plastic, but in the same time they are very resistant and robust.

    They are suited for heavy weighted products which can deteriorate a sensitive insert when they are placed in the container.

  • Folding corrugated plastic separators

    Foldable internal separators from cellular polypropylene are the perfect version to optimize the return transport, by removing them from the packaging and folding them for a minimum occupied space.

    This option helps as well to reduce the space occupied by packaging, when they are not in use.

    Another great advantage is that the crates or pallet boxes they are placed in, can be used also for further projects by simply replacing the separators with new ones adapted to the new pieces.

    To be easy to handle, it is important that, when folded, the separator must be stabile and doesn’t have a strong tendence to come back to the unfolded position.

    Rigid internal separators with base, are in fact smaller boxes from corrugated plastic, which can have or not have at their turn, another series of internal dunnage which can be customized depending on the application.

    The design versions are numberless (boxes with different heights, trays, with or without handles, with or without lids, etc.), the products being able to be nested in case they have irregular shapes, and this way, optimizing to its maximum the internal space.

    They are used together with injected or flatpac type containers, or other types of medium and big size packaging.

    They are easy to handle, they can be simply pulled out from the container they are stored in, and put on the work band.
