EPP is a thermoplastic polymer which resembles to expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam, EPS), from which almost anything can be produced, from internal separators and dunnage, technical components, pieces, to boxes and protective packaging for transport.

    EPP boxes with partitions and EPP separators

    The EPP boxes with partitions are used for parts and pieces that are fixed inside the packaging with the use of these separators.

    They are returnable packaging, which, due to the strength of the EPP foam, have multiple uses and can be used on a longer term, reducing this way the costs with packaging, especially because they are keeping their properties along the service life. They can also be produced from material with ESD properties.

    Styrofoam boxes with compartments are placed in large transport packages: injected boxes and containers, flatpack containers, but they can be also used as they are, placed on injected plastic pallets and covered lids, forming a compact system.

    They are used especially in automotive, for very sensitive parts, which also need anti-scratch packaging conditions in addition to anti-vibration or shock proof packaging, but also for electronic parts and components, fragile instruments, measuring devices, precision equipment, certain types of electronic equipment (such as drones), expensive products, etc.

    A plus is that this type of partitioning also allows the nesting type packaging of the products, meaning that the internal space of the box is used to its maximum without the products being affected in any way when packed or transported. This aspect attracts low transport costs, but also an optimized volume of deliveries.

    For transport there can also be achieved a considerably cost decrease due to the possibility of customizing the dimensions (compared to standard dimensions) so that the number of products in stack to be the maximum possible.

    For special applications, like, for example, the ones for packaging and transport of car steering wheels, for products with atypical shapes, oversized or overweighted, in case of special requirements regarding the ergonomics, there are available internal separators from EPP. The products are fixed on these separators, and after that are placed in injected plastic boxes or containers, flatpack containers, modular container with stacking frames, metal containers or racks, on plastic or thermoformed pallets. They can be placed horizontally or vertically. The separators are designed so they can securely fix the most complex or complicated shapes the products can have.

    The advantage is that they offer a high level of protection and in the same time are very handy at maneuvering.

    They are preferred when the production (and, of course, packaging) volumes are high.

    Isothermal boxes

    Due to the low weight, the strength of the material and the high degree of thermal stability, the isothermal boxes in PPE are used for products that need the temperature to be controlled and constant during storage or transport.

    They can also be used as such, as boxes, but also placed in injected plastic boxes that give a superior resistance to friction or impact.

    The most common uses are:

    • the placing of food-type food or drink-type products, raw or prepared, which must be maintained within certain temperature ranges; are used by companies from the HoReCa domain, food deliveries at home or street, deliveries to smaller retail stores or even mini market type, etc.;
    • various products in the medical area (from vaccines or drugs and laboratory preparations, to biological samples for analysis);
    • industrial or production area (samples that may degrade due to improper temperatures, or products that are intended to operate only under certain thermal conditions and that can be disturbed if maintained in other conditions, etc.), and even applications in the military area.

    Besides the advantage of maintaining the temperature inside, these boxes are very light because EPP is a light foam, and this entails low transport costs (turn and return).

    Even if it is light, the PPE foam is very resistant having a very high density, which also gives it the role of protecting the physical integrity of the products against shocks or vibrations, even more so in situations where the boxes are used as such and are not placed in another outer packaging.

    Also, the closed structure of the cells provides a high degree of hygiene to these boxes because they can be washed / cleaned / sanitize even at the industrial washing machine, but does not allow the development of molds and fungi, or the deposition of dust.

    They can be produced in a wide range of models and colors, with or without partitions, with vertical or horizontal use, with lid or without lid (if they are put in another container with a separate lid), with labels, logo or other imprints, they can have handles for ergonomic handling.

    The insulating boxes in PPE are reusable, 100% recyclable, have no odor, are environmentally friendly, are water resistant, have a long service life.

    The extraordinary qualities of the EPP foam (resistance to shocks, high level of thermal and acoustic insulation, resistance to moisture, possibility of customization on the desired design, its light weight) make it the right material for casting HAVC technological parts and components.

    Thus, from EPP can be produced casings for hosting important components of heating systems, ventilation, and air conditioning units, such as: pumps, valves, boilers, different control mechanisms, heat exchangers, etc.

    These components benefit from the insulating properties of EPP, by limiting and reducing heat loss, increasing the level of acoustic protection (especially in air conditioning units, pumps, or compressors), its low weight which does not put pressure on the elements, and does not force additionally the installations in which they are placed.

    A double advantage is that these EPP technical components also function as a protective packaging for transport, absorbing the shocks.

This material combines the best properties of EPS and EPP. Made of polystyrene, it has low density, flexibility, and excellent thermal insulation. He drew stiffness, strength, and chemical resistance from EPP. Its special features give the possibility of foaming low densities. Thanks to this, you can achieve lower weight in the product. This intelligent hybrid is ideal to produce transport trays for electronics and automotive industries, as well as reusable thermal insulation containers.

    Styrofoam customized packaging and separators can be created according to the clients’ request, offering safety during storage and transport of the goods, no matter the volume or frequency. The separators are mainly used for lacquered or painted products, glass, heavy weight pieces (because it doesn’t deform itself), lighting units and equipment, electronic components, sensitive objects, expensive products, ensuring a safe and trouble-free transport flow. The products for which these packaging are produced, can have various shapes, from simple and regular, to complicated or complex forms and geometries.

    EPP packaging, separators, or technical components, are produced by strictly respecting the smallest details which are necessary to firmly fix the items inside, this aspect being important for the storage and transport safety (especially on long distances or difficult travel conditions), or for the safety level when using equipment like heating, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioning systems, ventilation units, etc.

    EPP packaging and separators are light weighted, having a very low own weight (appx 40% lighter than injected boxes). They have a high level of durability, they absorb shocks/vibrations, they allow multiple uses and for a long period of service-time. Beside this, due to the low own weight, the costs associated with the transport of products and the return of empty packaging, are considerably reduced.

    Due to the insolation properties of the expanded polypropylene, the packed good are safe from thermic shocks, which, in case of certain products, can seriously deteriorate their performances.

    Another important advantage of the Styrofoam packaging is that, during their use, they maintain unchanged their properties, even in case of a considerably long and intensive service life.

    EPP is available in various densities, from the most delicate and soft (30 g/l) to the ones comparable cement or concrete (250 g/l).

    The design and production techniques of the EPP packaging and separators are adapted to the newest and more and more exigent requirements on the market, in relation with:

    • reducing the costs for any possible segment
    • ensuring the optimum protection conditions for the most difficult situations connected to packaging, transport, or product model, which has as result a very low or even zero level of waste caused by deteriorations (others than the ones associated with production waste)
    • the clients’ need to increase the marketing value of the packaging, and to adapt and follow the market trends
    • the quick and easy implementation of the solutions proposed to the clients
    • the compatibility with other materials (metal, plastic, self-adhesive holders, etc.)
