EPP boxes and components

EPP (PPE), or expanded polypropylene, is an excellent shock-absorbing material commonly used in the logistic chains of the automotive industry. It is also used for transporting equipment for fabrication industries like aviation, space, naval, and other types of equipment.

EPP is a thermoplastic polymer resembling expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam, EPS). A versatile and inexpensive material used for internal separators, dunnage, technical components, pieces, boxes, and protective packaging for transport.

  • EPP load carrier with compartments

EPP boxes with partitions and EPP separators

EPP boxes with partitions are used for parts and pieces that need very stable logistic packaging.

They are durable, returnable, multi-use, cost-efficient packaging.

Styrofoam boxes with compartments are usually placed in large transport containers: injected plastic boxes and containers or Flatpac containers. but they can also be used as they are, laid on injected plastic pallets and covered with lids.

This type of packaging is common in the automotive industry. Mainly for transporting sensitive parts, which need anti-scratch protection. EPP packaging is also fit for electronic components, fragile instruments, measuring devices, precision equipment, luxury items and other sensitive or expensive goods that need solid protection against shocks, vibrations and abrasion.

This packaging can be provided with ESD properties.

Partitioning allows nesting items inside the packaging. It improves space efficiency without compromising safety. Optimum volumes imply optimum costs.

Customizable dimensions also make sure that no space is wasted.

Custom EPP separators are ergonomic for products with atypical shapes, oversized or overweight.

Products are first loaded in the separators. Then they are placed in injected plastic boxes or containers, Flatpac containers, modular containers with stacking frames, metal containers or racks or on plastic or thermoformed pallets. The separators are designed to fix the most complex or complicated shapes securely.

They are light and resistant. They ensure top protection and good maneuverability at the same time.

They are preferred when production volumes are high.

  • resistant PPE isothermal boxes, manufactured in Romania

    Isothermal boxes

PPE is one of the best isothermal materials. It provides excellent insulation, is low weight, strong and inexpensive. Great for keeping a controlled temperature during transport.

Isothermal boxes can be used as such or stacked inside a larger container for improved security.

    Most commonly are used for:

    • Food or beverages, raw or cooked, that need to stay in precise temperature ranges; used by HoReCa, food delivery companies or mini markets and small businesses
    • Various medical products – vaccines or drugs and laboratory products, biological samples and more
    • Special industrial or military applications that need precise temperature conditions

These boxes are incredibly light, keeping transport costs low.

Yet despite their low weight, this dense material is resistant to shocks and highly stackable.

The closed structure of the cells provides a high standard of hygiene. The boxes can be washed/cleaned or sanitized using industrial washing machines. They do not allow the development of moulds and fungi or dust deposition.

They can be produced in a wide range of shapes and colors. Can come with or without partitions, vertical or horizontal access, with or without a lid, and with labels or imprints. They may come with handles for ergonomic handling.

The insulating boxes in PPE are reusable and 100% recyclable. They are odourless, environmentally friendly, water resistant, and have a long service life.

  • thermal and acoustic insulation transport packaging for ventilation systems

    HAVC Technical components from EPP

The extraordinary qualities of the EPP foam – resistance to shocks, high level of thermal and acoustic insulation, moisture resistance, production versatility and light weight make it a suitable material for casting HAVC technological parts and components.

Thus, EPP can be used for component casings of heating systems, ventilation, and air conditioning units, such as pumps, valves, boilers, different control mechanisms, heat exchangers etc.

These components benefit from the insulating properties of EPP by limiting and reducing heat loss and increasing acoustic protection. Especially in air conditioning units, pumps, or compressors. Its low weight does not pressure the elements or force the installations in which they are placed.

The EPP technical components double as protective shock-absorbing packaging on transport.

The assembly of EPP technical components is very quick. Speed equals lower production costs, quick access to parts, and easy maintenance.

  • On request, we can use Piocelan, which is an innovative and intelligent hybrid. It combines the advantages of foamable polystyrene and polyolefin and is a strong material. Robust and versatile — ideal for packaging and technological shapes. The material was developed by the Japanese company Sekisui. This material combines the best properties of EPS and EPP. Made of polystyrene, it has a low density and high flexibility. It also provides excellent thermal insulation. It has stiffness, strength, and the chemical resistance of EPP. This intelligent hybrid is ideal for producing transport trays for electronics and automotive parts. Also suitable for reusable thermal insulation containers.

Styrofoam customized packaging and separators can be created according to the client’s request, offering safety during storage and transport, regardless of volume or frequency. The partitions are mainly used for lacquered or painted products, glass, heavy-weight pieces (because it doesn’t deform), lighting units and equipment, electronic components, sensitive objects and expensive products. They ensure a safe and trouble-free transport flow. The items can have various geometries, regular or complex.

EPP packaging, separators or technical components are designed in minute detail to fix the items inside firmly. This aspect guarantees safe storage and, more importantly, a safe journey no matter how hard the conditions and sensitive the articles are: heating, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioning systems, ventilation units etc.

EPP packaging and separators are lightweight, appx 40% lighter than injected boxes. They are durable; they absorb shocks/vibrations well and allow multiple uses over a long period of service time. Their low weight reduces transport and return trip costs.

Styrofoam packaging usually maintains shape and characteristics over long periods of intensive use.

EPP is available in various densities, from the most delicate (30 g/l) to densities comparable to cement or concrete (250 g/l).

The design and production of EPP packaging and separators are adapted to the newest technologies and the most demanding standards, considering the following:

    • Reducing costs as much as possible
    • Ensuring optimum protection for the most challenging situations concerning packaging, transport chain, and product specifications, aiming for zero waste caused by deterioration
    • The client’s needs to increase the marketing value of packaging
    • Quick and easy implementation of the custom solutions
    • The compatibility with other materials – metal, plastic, self-adhesive holders etc.

Our production facilities enable us to produce packaging from EPP, Styrofoam, Piocelan, EPS at a high finishing level, with a pleasing aspect and touch.

Metal or plastic inserts in foam materials can be achieved using over-moulding.

Packaging can be personalized using serigraphy or embossing.

Expanded polypropylene is 100% recyclable, can be reused, and has low CO₂ emissions. We provide recycling services for our customers.

    Other advantages:

    • Closed cell foams are viable in humid environments (interior or exterior) as they do not absorb water and do not develop powerful smells or moulds and fungi
    • Pieces of complicated shapes and unexpected colors can be achieved using these materials
    • They are resistant to various chemical agents and oils, fats, nitro solvents or acetones
